The basic thing we all shall know about the variety of English writing styles is that each one of those is the particular way of using the language. The various styles offer the possibility to use the offered language options in the chosen meaning including the specific words and phrases. Even the convention of the grammar and spelling is wifely acceptable there.
Generally the writing is rather personal thing, as every person has his or her own priorities about how to write the texts and which words to use. Still when the companies hire the writers they might give the basic measures the employees have to follow in their work. This is made to gain the feeling of the unified text form that is rather recognizable by the audience. The most important is this however for the official documents and the valuable settings as there the examples are wide spread and usable by almost all the people.
English writing styles appear to be somewhat standardized for the information to be effectively transferred to the audience. This way the readers will easily get the internal sense of what was written and will receive the main idea fast and clear. A lot of styles that were standardized are used in the style guides while being fully documented there. Some of the styles are widely used, while the others are rather rare and even might be restricted in some of the papers and journals. By the way so called “no particular style” is also a style and it has its rights as well.
A lot of authors keep saying that the chosen style reflects the thoughts of the author and the attitude of him to the theme and the text. So here are the main English writing styles:
Proprietary style.
This is so called house style, with the definite part of expressions and the specific sentence structure.
Academic style.
